Internetpsykiatrien in Denmark has signed a five-year agreement with Platform24. The agreement covers the development and operation of a digital platform for internet-based psychological treatment for patients across the country.
Internetpsykiatrien is run by the Center for Digital Psykiatri and has a national mandate to offer free treatment within the public healthcare system, funded by the Danish regions and the state.
The Danish model, where a single region is responsible for digital psychiatric treatment on a national level, is relatively unique. From its base in Odense, Internetpsykiatrien’s team treats patients from all over the country via a fully digital care process.
„Internetpsykiatrien’s work is a fine example of how digitalization can be used to organize healthcare nationally. In psychiatry, where waiting times are often long, there are significant benefits to pooling and utilizing resources collectively. We are pleased to be able to contribute to this initiative,“ says Tobias Perdahl, specialist physician and Co-CEO of Platform24.
The agreement encompasses all of Internetpsykiatrien’s areas of operation: treatment for adults, young people, and patients with Binge Eating Disorder (BED). Deployment is planned for after the summer of 2026.
Internetpsykiatrien currently treats approximately 4,000 patients per year. The ambition is to gradually scale up operations to accommodate up to 25,000 patients annually in the coming years, in part by including more patient groups and developing new treatment programs.
This initiative comes at a time when the demand for digital psychiatric treatment is increasing and more patients are seeking remote care.
Platform24’s platform meets Danish healthcare and data protection requirements and is CE-marked in accordance with the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
