“It’s great to see that there is a lot of interest in AI tools for transcription, as Platform24 is also investing here. It is also exciting to see how many concrete applications of AI are now out in practice with stories from healthcare professionals who have tested, evaluated and started to scale up the use of AI – especially in documentation,” says Tobias Perdahl in Platform24’s press release from the fair.

“The Netherlands has come further in, for example, remote monitoring of chronically ill patients, while Sweden was an early adopter of digital accessibility and triage in primary care,” says Tobias Perdahl. He notes that it’s “quite clear” that AI transcription has made a faster impact in the Netherlands compared to Sweden.

“In the Netherlands, cloud-based solutions from US vendors have been a given for a long time, which has facilitated the introduction of AI. In Sweden, we are generally more cautious about such platforms, which probably slows down development,” says Tobias Perdahl.

Many highlighted the shortage of nurses as one of the most pressing challenges for healthcare. Several solutions were presented where technology will support, rather than replace, staff and contribute to a more sustainable work environment.
